There’s always a funny little moment before a basketball season begins. The team gets their uniforms, and suddenly the room turns into a mini fashion show. One player checks the mirror. Another asks if the jersey number looks cool. Someone inevitably says the shorts feel “super professional” even though they just put them on five seconds ago.

It’s winter season again, and it brings a shift in how netball is played. Training nights require an extra layer of clothing, which sometimes becomes uncomfortable to play in because the netball ball is a game played at full speed.

Training schedules and fixtures are usually locked in early as teams prepare for the upcoming season.
